Ed Sheeran has made it clear that he's not a fan of artificial intelligence (AI) and he recently opened up about his thoughts on the advanced tech. During a private concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York, the Grammy-winning star weighed in, calling it "weird".
The Lego House hitmaker said: "What I don't understand about AI is like, for the last 60 years, Hollywood movies have been telling you, 'Don't do it.' And now everyone's doing it. Have you not seen the movies where they kill us all?"
The 32-year-old went on to explain why he doesn't think AI is a great idea, saying: "Also, I just don't know why you need it – if you're taking a job away from a human being, I think that's probably a bad thing. The whole point of society is we all do jobs. If everything is done by robots, everybody's gonna be out of work. I just find AI a bit weird."
While AI has certainly accomplished some incredible things in recent years - from creating realistic versions of songs to creating performing holograms of musicians - not everyone is as on board with the tech as others.
Country legend Dolly Parton made it clear that she has no interest in leaving behind a tech version of herself. She said: "I think I've left a great body of work behind. I have to decide how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be involved [with] because I don't want to leave my soul here on this Earth. I think with some of this stuff I'll be grounded here forever… I'll be around, we'll find ways to keep me here."
