According to an official from the Election Commission, the state of Odisha saw a high voter turnout of 74.41% in the final phase of elections held on June 1. This is only slightly higher than the overall turnout of 74.38% in the 2019 general elections.

On the other hand, the Bangirpost assembly segment under Mayurbhanj LS seat had the most number of voters exercising their right with a turnout of 77.52%, while Aul Vidhan Sabha seat had the lowest turnout of 62.30%.

A total of 99.61 lakh voters were eligible to cast their votes in the 10,881 polling booths set up for the final phase of polling. To ensure the safety and security of the voters and the polling process, the Election Commission had deployed 36,000 security personnel, including 125 companies of central forces.

The state had previously seen a turnout of 75.68% in the first round of polling on May 13, 73.5% in the second round on May 20, and 74.55% on May 25. In light of some incidents of post-poll violence in various parts of the state, the Election Commission has decided to deploy 70 additional companies of CAPF till June 6 to maintain law and order. Out of these, 25 companies will be specifically assigned to guard the EVM strongrooms and counting centers.

To ensure the safety of the EVMs and the integrity of the election results, a two-tier security arrangement has been put in place at the strongrooms. The first layer will consist of a platoon of CAPF personnel, while the State Armed Police Force personnel will be stationed outside the building.

A total of 185 companies of CAPF were deployed for the four-phase elections in Odisha, demonstrating the Election Commission's commitment to conducting free, fair, and impartial elections. The state will now eagerly await the results of the final phase of polling, which will determine the fate of the candidates vying for six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly segments.
