Gogglebox star Ellie Warner's boyfriend Nat Eddleston was recently the victim of a car accident. He was out with friends walking home from the pub when Declan Anderson, the driver, collided with him at a speed of more than 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. As a result, Nat suffered a broken neck, an injured back, bruised lungs, and brain nerve fibre damage. He was placed on a life support machine and spent 11 days in intensive care, and was later fitted with a surgical halo brace.
Leeds Crown Court heard that Anderson had shown genuine remorse for Nat's condition and was given a three-year driving ban, 20 days probation rehabilitation, and a two-year suspended sentence. Nat is still in recovery from the accident and has undergone speech therapy.
Ellie has taken time away from filming the show to support Nat and spent two months off from the programme. She returned in May and Nat was seen out and about wearing a neck brace for support. To mark her birthday last year, Ellie asked people to donate to a charity close to her heart - Headway, the brain injury association.
Ellie and Nat welcomed their first child together last summer. Announcing the arrival of their son, Ellie wrote on Instagram, "Sweet baby Ezra he has made our lives complete we love you so much son."
