A middle-aged man, aged 53, was recently stopped by the police in the far south-west of Sydney. It was on October 31st when he was driving a Mitsubishi Fuso tipper truck loaded with a steel frame on Finns Road, Menangle. However, things took a turn for the worse when he was pulled over by the authorities. They discovered that the steel frame was protruding outwards by 65cm on one side and 72cm on the other, which was well beyond the maximum permissible overhang of 15cm.
Upon further inspection, the officers also noticed that there was no warning sign on the truck to alert other drivers about the width of the load. This could have potentially caused serious accidents or damage to other vehicles on the road. To make matters worse, they found out that the truck's registration had expired two months ago and the driver did not have any insurance.
As a result, the man was issued with multiple infringement notices by the police. They also advised him not to continue moving the steel frame until he could do so safely in another registered vehicle. This was to ensure the safety of both the driver and other motorists on the road. The situation could have been much worse if the authorities had not intervened in time.
