Driver attacked and hit by car in suspected car robbery on Melbourne road.
Yesterday in Melbourne's south-east, three teenagers were involved in a frightening incident that resulted in charges being filed against them. It all began when an Uber Eats delivery driver parked in a driveway in Langwarrin around 1:45pm. That's when a 17-year-old allegedly ran from a passing ute and jumped into the driver's seat. The driver tried to stop the carjacking, but another teenager from the ute came and punched him in the head.

The delivery driver didn't give up and tried to chase after the car as it sped away. Unfortunately, he fell under the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. He was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the teenagers drove from Langwarrin to Oakleigh and abandoned their vehicle on Paddington Road. But their wild ride didn't end there.

The teenagers then allegedly broke into a home on nearby Carlisle Crescent. Inside, they found an elderly couple, whom they assaulted before ransacking their house. The police were alerted and quickly responded to the scene. They were able to apprehend the three teenagers at the Oakleigh property.

Two of the teenagers, both 17 years old, were charged with aggravated home invasion and aggravated carjacking. They were expected to appear in court today. The third teenager, also facing charges of aggravated home invasion and aggravated carjacking, is currently in the hospital under police guard.

This terrifying incident is just another reminder of the dangers that can arise in our communities. It's important for us to remain vigilant and to support our law enforcement in their efforts to keep us safe. Our thoughts are with the victims of this senseless act of violence and we hope for a speedy recovery for the injured delivery driver. Let's all work together to prevent these kinds of incidents from happening in the future.
