(Image Source: https://metro.co.uk) Mark Schwarzer, who spent two years at Chelsea from 2013 to 2015, has strongly suggested that the Blues should not let go of ‘unsellable’ Mason Mount, who has been linked with Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old England international is likely to depart Stamford Bridge after negotiations between his representatives and the club reached an impasse over a contract extension.
Chelsea may be compelled to sell Mount this summer in order to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Liverpool are strongly courting a transfer while Bayern Munich – managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel – have also entered the race for Mount, whose current deal at Chelsea is due to expire in the summer of 2024.
The west London club initially wanted to give Mount a seven-year deal that would keep him at the club until 2030 but the terms were not agreeable to him.
Schwarzer has advised the Blues to come to a decision regarding Mount’s future as he told Sky Sports on Wednesday: ‘He’s almost unsellable.
‘He’s a player you would not sell. He’s a Chelsea kid through and through. He’s been at the club all his life.
“I would’ve thought that he’s… a player that you would not sell.”

‘That’s what fans die for. Fans love that. He’s such an incredible player. I certainly would not be selling him as he is such a phenomenal player.’
Chelsea are seeking at least £50m for Mount, who has been crowned the club’s Player of the Year for the last two seasons. He has made a total of 192 appearances for Chelsea to date, registering 33 goals and 37 assists.
Mount has 36 caps for England and is highly regarded by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.

He may now choose to go to Germany to join up with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich – who recently appointed Tuchel as their new manager.
Mount and Tuchel have a strong relationship having clinched the Champions League together at Chelsea.
But Mount has also been urged to join Liverpool by John Barnes, who feels he would fit perfectly into Jurgen Klopp’s team.
