More than a year after his death, DJ Kay Slay is being honored with a street renamed in his honor. On Aug. 13, 2023, East 105th Street and 1st Avenue in East Harlem will be officially renamed after Keith Grayson, also known as the legendary DJ Kay Slay. A ceremony to commemorate the occasion will be held at 11 AM and hosted by Papoose, Jarrod “General” Whitaker, and LAdi Kutz.

Kay Slay was a former New York City graffiti artist and recording artist who made a name for himself as a DJ. Unfortunately, he fell ill with COVID-19 in late 2021 and passed away on April 17, 2022, after four months of battling the virus.
His funeral was held at The World Famous Apollo Theater on April 24, 2022. Papoose, Busta Rhymes, and Melle Mel all spoke at the ceremony to honor their dear friend.
