Johnny Gargano made a stunning return to WWE Monday Night Raw, just in time to even the odds for his former tag team partner, Tommaso Ciampa. The grand entrance was his first TV appearance since May and came after Ciampa's Intercontinental Championship match.

The contract signing for the match to take place had earlier gone awry with the two stars exchanging strong words about the IC Title. Adam Pearce then stepped in to confirm the match later in the show.

What followed was an incredible main event between the two talented stars which ended with GUNTHER's sleeper hold. Ciampa was joined by Imperium members Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci for the beatdown, but Gargano's return with DIY's finisher on Kaiser put a stop to it and concluded the show.

The main event was especially poignant as fans lit up the arena with their phones in a spontaneous tribute to Bray Wyatt, who tragically passed away in August.

The show had earlier kicked off with chaotic scenes as Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Raquel Rodriguez, and Rhea Ripley clashed in the aisle. The Women's World Champion then brought out Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest to warn Dom not to return home if he doesn't regain the North American Title on Tuesday's NXT episode.

In other matches, Alpha Academy lost to Ludwig Kaiser and his tag partner, Bronson Reed got another win with the Tsunami, and Xavier Woods rolled up Ivar for the victory.

Shinsuke Nakamura destroyed Seth Rollins in a sneak attack before their Last Man Standing Match this weekend. Tegan Nox beat Chelsea Green with Natalya's help while Jey Uso and J.D. McDonagh were also involved in a brawl.

Finally, Drew McIntyre addressed his actions and explained why he wouldn't be everyone's saviour. He then went on to beat The Miz with the Future Shock DDT, exposing the turnbuckle beforehand.

WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
