District-Level Singing Contest

Madikeri, Oct. 8: A district-level singing competition (featuring patriotic songs) was organized at the Ponnamma Kushalappa Scouts and Guides Bhavan in Madikeri, under the aegis of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kodagu District Association.

Students belonging to the Bulbuls, Cubs, Scouts and Guides, Rangers, and Rovers units—who had advanced from the taluk level to the district level—captivated the audience with their melodious renditions of patriotic songs.

Inaugurating the event, Dr. Koleyanda Mohan Appaji, Professor and Head of the Emergency Services Department at Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, stated that such competitions play a vital role in identifying and nurturing talent while fostering patriotism, discipline, and cultural aptitude among students.

He urged the students to undergo quality training through the Scouts and Guides organization and to cultivate discipline, restraint, and a sense of national unity.
