Several private schools near Noida's sectors 73, 41, and Sarfabad have recently been warned by the officials for failing to register their institutions properly. A drive conducted by the district education department in the area, by direction of the state education department, revealed that 10 of these schools were operating without valid registration.
Yashpal Singh, the Block Education Officer of Gautam Budh Nagar, spoke to the Times of India about the situation and said that each school had around 150 students and five to six teachers. He added that the lack of recognition or affiliation from any board was a threat to the students' future, as they would not receive a valid certificate at the end of their academic year.
In case the schools do not provide the necessary documents within the given week, they will be shut down and fined up to Rs 10,000 each. The students will then have to adjust to nearby schools. The district education department has urged parents to check the registration status of the school before they enroll their children.
The incident has come to light shortly after a private school owner was arrested for allegedly raping a teacher within the school premises. The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.
