Dharmasthala Burial Case

Dharmasthala, Sep. 18: The SIT team formed by the government to investigate the burial of bodies in Dharmasthala dug up the ground and found three skeletons and later sent the witness Chinnaiah to jail on charges of giving false testimony.

Then, according to the information of another witness Vitthala Gowda, a search operation has been launched in about 12 acres of forest area of Bangle Hill near the Netravati river since Wednesday. About five skulls and bones were also found in the search on Wednesday. All these remains were found without digging the ground. Along with this, an ID card was also found.

It has been learned that the ID card that has now been found belongs to U.B. Ayyappa (65), a resident of T. Shettigeri village in Virajpet taluk of Kodagu district. He went missing in 2017. He had said that he was going to a hospital in Mysore for treatment, but he went missing that day. Therefore, it is suspected that the skeleton found may also be that of Ayyappa.

An FIR was registered at Srimangala police station on 25-6-2017 on the complaint of his son Jeevan regarding Ayyappa's disappearance. On 17-6-2017, Ayyappa left his house at 6 am on the day of the hospital and his phone was switched off after 11:30 am. After this, the family searched for a week in the house of his relatives. Finally, when Ayyappa could not be found, Jeevan filed a complaint at the police station. However, despite filing a complaint, Ayyappa was not found. Now, eight years later, Ayyappa's ID card has been found in the bungalow. Srimangala Police Station Police Officer Ravindra, who gave information about this, said that a missing person complaint has been filed regarding Ayyappa's disappearance and that the SIT officials have not yet asked for information from him, but will provide information if asked. It is apparent that the skeletons found in Banglegudda were in a state of suicide. The skull and remains were found tied to a tree with rope and cloth, an SIT official said. During the search, the SIT officials found two ropes and a saree in the tree. The skeleton was found at the bottom of the tree where the rope was found. The ID card was also found with it. The rope and saree, which were found in the form of a noose, were also seized and everything has been sealed.

It is being said that two skeletons of dead bodies were found during the search in Banglegudda today as well. But the SIT has not issued any statement on this. The authorities have sent the skeleton and bones and soil samples that have now been found for FSL testing. When the skeleton and bones found are examined, the doctors are of the opinion that it is a male, and it is suspected that all of them are only 6-7 years old. Only after the FSL report will the exact information be available.
