Devotees enthusiastically took part in the historical Chunari Yatra in Badnawar.
Yesterday, history was made in Badnawar town of Dhar district as the 'Chunari Kalash Yatra' was carried out with great enthusiasm and zeal. Hundreds of devotees gathered at the Shree Baijnath Mahadev Temple and took part in the procession. The event was organised by entrepreneur Jaideep Singh Panwar.

The yatra was led by the devotees with a holy Kalash placed atop their heads. The chants of Bhajans and beats of drums filled the air and the procession was a sight to behold with women carrying the Kalash, girls playing garba, and 32-faced Kalika Mata, Bahubali Hanuman, elephants, and camels. Veteran Congress leader Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat was also present in the yatra.

The procession was welcomed by people from all over the route with flowers being showered from the platforms. Prasad was also distributed from the platforms. Cabinet minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon welcomed the yatra at the bus stand and felicitated Panwar for the event.

The highlight of the event was the Maa Durga idol seated on a decorated chariot. Devotees waited for hours to get a glimpse of their beloved deity. Panwar offered attractively designed 'chunri' in red to goddess Ekvira Devi in the famous temple. It was a day to remember for the people of Badnawar as they celebrated the Shardiya Navaratri festival with great zeal.
