Daisy May Cooper is surprised by her body transformation after losing 10 stones.
Daisy May Cooper, the talented actress known for her role in This Country, has recently opened up about her impressive weight loss and body transformation. At 38 years old, she is preparing to reprise her role as Nic in the second season of Am I Being Unreasonable?, alongside her co-stars Lenny Rush and Selin Hizli.

Fans of the comedy-drama have been eagerly awaiting the new season, as it has been a long wait since the first season aired in 2022. As the new episodes are set to air, Daisy has taken a moment to reflect on how much her appearance has changed since then. She shared with The Sun, "It was a bit mad as since we filmed the last series and this series, I've had my lips done and lost about ten stone. So in those flashbacks, we were just killing ourselves laughing as we don't even look like the same people. But it was fun."

Daisy has always been open about her journey to body positivity and her views on cosmetic procedures. She revealed that she began her transformation with a keto diet, which focuses on low carb, high fat meals. In an interview with Grazia, she shared, "I'm all for body positivity, but when I was at my biggest, I was at my most miserable. I had a massive food addiction."

The actress continued to explain how her weight was affecting her overall health and well-being. She said, "I wasn't healthy. I couldn't breathe when I was walking up the stairs. I was so unhappy. And I've had some messages like, 'Well, now you've lost the weight, you're not funny anymore.' What the f**k? Why do women have to be f**king fat to be funny? That makes me so angry. I champion anybody. I think everybody should be happy with their body. But I wasn't."

Last year, Daisy also spoke about undergoing cosmetic surgery and her concerns over getting more Botox. She revealed on Rylan Clark's How To Be in the Spotlight podcast, "I had Botox and then I had fillers, and it was just the worst. I looked awful." She also shared that her agent warned her to stop getting cosmetic procedures because it was affecting her ability to act.

Daisy also revealed that she had considered getting a tummy tuck, but after consulting with a surgeon, she was scared off by the potential complications. She said, "I haven't had any surgery. I did go in to have a consultation for a tummy tuck, and the surgeon just scared the s*** out of me. There were so many complications with it all going wrong."

The actress also opened up about her struggles with depression and how medication slowed down her metabolism and caused her to have constant cravings. She shared, "I was prescribed medication for depression that slowed my metabolism right down to a crawl and made me have the munchies 24/7."

Daisy's weight gain was also a result of the medication, but she made the decision to come off it and focus on her health. She said, "It wasn't until I made the decision to come off that people were like, 'Oh my god, she's so different, she's losing all this weight.' And it's like no, this was always who I was. The overweight fashion wasn't me, so shedding all of that s*** was great."

Despite facing criticism for her weight loss, Daisy remains determined to prioritize her health and well-being. She shared, "And then I had lots of people go, 'Well, you're not funny anymore, because you're not fat,' which p****d me off. Like, this is my body, I want to be healthy, and I wasn't healthy when I was 20 stone or whatever. It was really bad, and I was miserable because I was just getting stuff to cover it like a f**king tent, just to cover all the lumps and bumps, and I didn't take any pride in myself. Awful."

Now, Daisy is excited to return to screens in the new season of Am I Being Unreasonable?, where she will reunite with her brother and co-star, Charlie Cooper, for the first time since This Country. The BBC has teased the upcoming episodes, which will pick up where season one ended, with Nic possibly getting away with a murder. The new season will also feature guest stars like Chelsea Peretti, Tom Davis, Denise Black, Jamali Maddix, and Kojey Radical.

Fans can catch the new season of Am I Being Unreasonable? on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting on Wednesday, February 5, at 9.30pm.
