The TT Nagar police in Bhopal have laid their hands on a listed criminal who had been externed in May. According to reports, the police said that the habitual offender waylaid a 30-year-old woman in the TT Nagar area on Wednesday and scuffled with her.
The victim, Shefali Pal, was reportedly on her way to Nehru Nagar from TT Nagar along with her brother and sister when the man named Gaurav Gaud blocked their way by stopping his bike in front of their two-wheeler. The trio then fell down from their vehicle.
Gaud then allegedly hurled abuses at Pal and demanded a sum of Rs. 1k from her for liquor. When Pal refused to give the money, Gaud scuffled with her. Pal's brother and sister reportedly tried to intervene but failed to do so.
The police were immediately informed and Gaud was arrested. The SHO of the TT Nagar police station, Chain Singh Raghuwanshi, said that a case was registered against Gaud under the National Security Act for lurking in the city despite being externed.
