Rev. Oliver Pitts Sr. and Violet Jarrell Pitts celebrated 70 years of marriage with a vow renewal ceremony over the weekend. This couple, who are members of the Bellevue community in Macon, Georgia, has been together since 1953 after dating for four years.
The couple told 11 Alive that their relationship wasn't love at first sight. Violet admitted that "at first, I really didn't like him!" However, even when Violet left Oliver and returned to her mother's house, Oliver came back to get her.
