Couple honors Remembrance Day with £8,000 red home transformation.
Jackie and Sean North, both aged 37, took decorating their home in Lincolnshire to a new level this year for Remembrance Day. They wanted to create a special display to pay their respects to all of those who have given their lives in war.

The couple have spent a whopping £8,000 on 12,000 lights and two giant poppies, to commemorate the laying down of arms at 11am on November 11, 1918. On Tuesday, the lights were turned on and ever since, the street has been filled with people coming to pay their respects.

Jackie, a school kitchen assistant, said: "We did Remembrance last year but we didn't have anywhere near as many lights. We had a poppy on the tree and in front of the garage with some lights. This year we have doubled our show to make it a lot nicer – we love lights so we keep adding more."

Jackie says the display is worth every penny because everyone thinks it is 'beautiful'. She went on to say: "We wanted to pay our respects in our own way. It is really important we remember, we are here because of what the older generation did for us. Everyone loves the lights, we have had quite a few visitors last night – there has been a lot of traffic."

The North's incredible display is a wonderful way to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for us and to honour those who are still fighting for peace.
