Conference equips faith communities to take action on racial health disparities.
The Healthy Churches 2030 Conference is an incredible opportunity for Black faith communities and families to become active in helping to tackle the alarming health disparities afflicting African-Americans. The virtual conference, taking place from November 13th to 16th, will provide expert presentations, educational sessions, and more to pastors, deacons, missionaries, elders, public health and medical professionals, caregivers, advocates, and anyone else interested in getting involved.

The initiative is presented by The Balm In Gilead, Inc., an organization devoted to mobilizing faith communities to respond to health crises in the Black community. As the founder and CEO, Dr. Pernessa C. Seele, explains, “Faith communities are the oldest, most important, and most ubiquitous institutions that Black people own, lead, and fund. Their potential and influence to lessen the impact of systemic disparities and improve the health status of African Americans is unmatched.”

The conference will provide an invaluable opportunity for faith and public health representatives to collaborate on solutions for reversing and eliminating health disparities. Presentations will focus on several conditions disproportionately affecting African-Americans due to systemic racism, such as infant and maternal morbidity, cardiovascular disease, mental health challenges, Alzheimer’s and other diseases.

Healthy Churches 2030 is founded on the principles of Healthy People 2030, an effort by the Department of Health and Human Services to eliminate health disparities and create equitable opportunities for healthy living. To register for the conference, visit www.HC2030.org. Participation costs $50 per person, or $35 per person for groups of 20 or more.

Don’t miss out on this amazing chance to make a positive difference in the Black community and help combat health disparities. For more information, visit www.healthychurches2030.org.
