Muzaffarnagar: On Monday, the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind announced that the schoolboy who was slapped by his classmates on the instructions of the school teacher is moving to another private school a few kilometers away from Khubbapur village.
District President of the organization, Maulana Mukarram, declared that they have taken the responsibility to sponsor the boy's education and have arranged for his admission in the English medium school in Shahpur town. To make things easier for the boy, the organization has also hired a vehicle for his transportation to and from the school. Moreover, the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind has declared that they'll sponsor his education as long as he wants to study.
Members of the organization who had visited the boy's family on Sunday as per the direction of President Arshad Madani, were also present when the father and the members of the organization visited the new school on Monday and completed the admission process.
The incident of the Muslim boy getting slapped by his classmates on the direction of the teacher, who was also seen making objectionable remarks against the community, had gone viral on social media a few days ago, raising an outcry from all quarters. The teacher, Tripta Tyagi, was booked for this.
The school has been closed for the third day on Monday, with the management saying that they were busy replying to the show cause notice served to them by the education department concerning the school's affiliation. Basic Shiksha Adhikari Shubham Shukla revealed that the school was sent a show cause notice on Saturday and has been asked to reply to the matter of its affiliation by Monday.
The school had received affiliation for three years in 2019, but, in spite of the expiration of the affiliation last year, the school management failed to renew it. Nevertheless, Shukla assured that the school will not be closed and normal activities will be conducted in the best interest of the students until an alternate arrangement is made for them.
The teacher has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 323 and 504, based on the complaint of the boy's family. Tyagi had tried to defend herself, claiming that the video had been tampered with to give it a communal colour and had been shot by the student's uncle. She had admitted that getting the student slapped by his classmates was wrong, but explained that she was physically challenged and couldn't stand up to reach the student.
The boy's father informed the media that his son was taken to Meerut for a medical checkup on Sunday after he complained of not being able to sleep. He added that his son has now returned home and is doing well.
