We are thrilled to announce the inaugural class of the Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor. This event will be held on January 12th, 2024 at our game against the Golden State Warriors. The Ring of Honor will celebrate many of the great players, coaches, and front office staff who have made outstanding contributions to the Bulls organization over the past 57 years.
The event will feature the 1995-96 championship team, which is widely considered one of the best teams in NBA history. This team will be joined by 13 other individuals who have met the criteria for induction into the Ring of Honor:
Players must have spent at least three seasons with the Chicago Bulls, retired from basketball for at least three years, and demonstrated high character and integrity both on and off the court. Staff must have made significant contributions to the Bulls organization and have had an impact on championships or league awards.
The inductees include former Bulls players Randy Brown, Jud Buechler, Jason Caffey, James Edwards, Jack Haley, Ron Harper, Michael Jordan, Steve Kerr, Toni Kukoc, Luc Longley, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, John Salley, Dickey Simpkins, and Bill Wennington. Coaches Jim Cleamons, Erik Helland, Phil Jackson, John Paxson, Jimmy Rodgers, and Tex Winter will also be honored. The executives from the front office include Ivica Dukan, Clarence Gaines, Jr., Jerry Krause, John Ligmanowski, Chip Schaefer, Jim Stack, and Al Vermeil.
The Ring of Honor will be a first-of-its-kind celebration to honor the legends who have shaped the organization. We are looking forward to cementing their legacy in Bulls history and inspiring the future of our organization. This may be the first time in public that former teammates Jordan and Pippen are together after the airing of the documentary The Last Dance, which resulted in a tumultuous relationship between the two. The Ring of Honor will take place every two years, with the next class being inducted in 2026.
