*Gonikoppa, Aug. 6: The Ganesh festival celebration should reflect harmony and not be a celebration of prestige challenges, said Virajpet Taluk Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh Kumar.

Addressing the Ganesh Visarjanotsava Committee meeting held at the Bharani Hall in front of Aruvattoklu Gram Panchayat, he spoke. He said that the committee should take the initiative to celebrate the festival with discipline and punctuality without giving any room to any unpleasant incidents.

He guided them to abandon the mentality of creating traffic problems by installing large arches and artworks and behaving badly without leaving space for other committees, and to hold the Ganesh Visarjanotsava as an example by keeping in mind the purpose of the celebration.

Circle Inspector Shivaraj R Mudhol said that the committees should come forward for the Ganesh Visarjanotsava within the given time.
