Book Reading Celebration: A Unique and Meaningful Experience

Shanivarsanthe, Sept. 30: G. Krishnaraj, Circle Inspector of the Shanivarsanthe Police Station, remarked that literary events like the "Celebration of Book Reading" (*Pustaka Oduva Sambhrama*) offer a meaningful and novel experience, helping to revive the habit of reading and foster an interest in books—practices that are currently declining in the age of mobile phones.

He inaugurated the event, organized by the District Abhinaya Kala Milana Charitable Trust at the Natya Sadana Hall in Shanivarsanthe, by reading from the novel *Kramana* by local author Bharadwaja K. Anandatirtha. He emphasized that reading is not merely a hobby; it leads one toward knowledge and helps focus the mind. He urged everyone to set aside their mobile phones and cultivate the habit of reading.

Writer Sha.Ga. Nayanatara Prakashchandra reviewed the short story collection *Ditte* by author Sharmila Ramesh, while teacher G.P. Kavitha reviewed the collection *Avvayyajjiya Kathegalu* (Grandmother's Stories). Writer Lavanya Mohan read and reviewed writer Jala Kalappa’s novel *Mudre*, while teacher Jyothi Niranjan reviewed the work *Itihasa Prasiddha Shanthalli Vaibhava*. Homemaker Hema Mullur reviewed writer Hemanth Parera’s poetry collection *Belli Gejje*, and teacher L.M. Prema reviewed the novel *Shakunada Hakki*.
