Bobby Brazier, the actor who plays Freddie Slater on EastEnders, has been announced as one of the newest celebrities to join the line-up of Strictly Come Dancing. Alongside him are Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Waterloo actor Adam Thomas.
The news of Bobby’s casting on Strictly was revealed on Tuesday on BBC Breakfast, with the youngster beaming as he was unveiled on camera. He joins Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Adam, Nikita Kanda, Ellie and Jody Cundy in the 2023 line-up of Strictly.
Bobby couldn’t wait to share his excitement with his fans, taking to Instagram stories to share his moves to the beat of Pharrell Williams’ Frontin. His proud father Jeff Brazier reposted the social media post confirming Bobby’s signing and wrote: ‘Go on the boy. Proud of you,’ followed by a red heart emoji.
Speaking about how he thinks his son will do on the show, Jeff told The Mirror: ‘I have no doubt he’ll impress people with his politeness and his manners. He has a really beautiful nature, he makes you feel good – that’s his gift. I can’t wait to see him share it with everybody else.’
Bobby is looking forward to the challenge of performing in front of everyone and said: ‘I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly line up, I can't wait to start training like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my locker.’
We can’t wait to see Bobby in action when Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC later this year!
