Black Women Invest (BWI) is an empowering community of more than 13,000 Black women investors that is on a mission to help Black women achieve economic success. Founded by Schelo Doirin, the organization is dedicated to having a million Black women become strong investors by providing them with various educational tools and resources.
The community meets and discuss financial topics such as crypto, stocks, real estate, business, entrepreneurship, retirement planning and more, either through local chapters or an online chapter. There are currently several active local chapters in the US, one of which is located in Southern California and is led by Samonae Carter. The group meets biweekly to learn about financial literacy.
On October 2nd, BWI launched its new Accelerator Program. It is a six-week investment course designed to teach its students the fundamentals of investing, the stock market and how to build a portfolio. It includes stock and index fund training, a Real Estate Investment Trust training, a downloadable Stock Market Investment Planner, a weekly live group coaching call and an accountability partner for support.
The BWI community is growing and recently announced the launch of its Washington, D.C., chapter on September 18. The launch was celebrated with a brunch and the organization’s Instagram page was filled with excitement about connecting with the beautiful Black women of D.C.
If you would like to be part of this inspiring sisterhood and learn more about wealth-building, why not join a local chapter or the online chapter? Don’t miss out on this opportunity to become part of the BWI family and to take your financial literacy to the next level.
