Randy Hughes, Founder and CEO of Counting Pennies, is on a mission to help more African-American tax and accounting professionals succeed. With more than 20 years of experience as a CPA, Randy will be hosting the Well-Rounded Accountant Summit, a free online event taking place virtually on November 7-9, 2023.
Randy highlighted the importance of representation and diversity in the field of accounting. He explained that only 2 percent of CPAs nationwide are Black, according to estimates from the National Society of Black Certified Public Accountants. Therefore, it is essential to empower and support Black accountants in the industry.
The Well-Rounded Accountant Summit will provide resources and education to help Black accountants and tax professionals start their own businesses. This will enable them to do work that they enjoy, on their own schedule, from anywhere in the world, and get paid what they are worth.
The summit will feature several special guest speakers and interviews, including celebrity entertainer Kenny Lattimore and well-known author and guest speaker, Mark Wickersham. Moreover, select presentations will offer continuing education units for accountants interested in VIP access.
Randy's mission to help more African-American tax and accounting professionals is a step in the right direction.
