Billy Connolly's life story was adapted into a National Theatre of Scotland show.
The National Theatre of Scotland has created a show inspired by the beloved comedian Billy Connolly. Written by Gary McNair, the show seeks to capture the stories of Billy Connolly from people across Scotland, and is titled Dear Billy – a heartfelt expression of appreciation from the people of Scotland. From 16th May to 24th June, audiences throughout Scotland will have the opportunity to experience this joyous production, and to witness first-hand just how much the Big Yin means to his nation.

McNair said, "It's an honour for me to be part of this show. To be able to represent Scotland's most cherished artist with our National Theatre is a tremendous privilege, and I'm grateful for the wonderful cast and crew who have been a part of the research and development of this show. I hope that when we go on tour, we can share the same sense of joy with our audiences."

Jackie Wylie, Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Scotland, noted, "Billy Connolly is, without a doubt, one of the most beloved figures in Scotland, and it is only appropriate that his National Theatre pays tribute to him with this special show".
