The weather in Bhopal is getting colder as we approach the month of November. There is a chill in the air and the lowest temperature of October was recorded on Friday-Saturday night at 14.7 degrees. This is 1.1 degrees lower than the temperature recorded on Wednesday-Thursday night.
The nights are cold while the days are still relatively hot. Meteorologists have attributed this drop in temperature to the northern winds. According to HS Pandey, a senior meteorologist, a western disturbance has brought snowfall to the North, causing cold winds to blow here. During the day, the wind direction is south-westerly and the temperature is somewhere around 32-33 degrees Celsius.
In other parts of Madhya Pradesh, the mercury has gone even lower. Pachmarhi recorded 11.2 degrees Celsius on Friday night while Mandla, Raisen, Nagaon, and Umaria all recorded temperatures below 15 degrees. The temperature in Betul, Datia, Gwalior, Raisen, Rajgarh, Chhindwara, Rewa, and Malanjkhand also stayed below 15 degrees.
Pandey said that the night temperature in many cities, including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, is currently between 16-18 degrees. He expects the temperature to reach 15-16 degrees by October 30-31. However, he also mentioned that the western disturbance will remain active in North India until November 2, causing the temperature to remain low. The night temperature in the hill stations of the state like Pachmarhi, Rewa, Naugaon, Malanjkhand etc. has already dropped to 15 degrees or less.
