This past weekend, Bevel celebrated its 10th anniversary and hip-hop's 50th anniversary at the OneMusicFestival in Atlanta with their interactive installation, titled 'Respect Due'. The event was a huge success, with hundreds of people in attendance.
Rapper Smino made a special appearance to perform a live set, as well as conducting a meet-and-greet at the Bevel exhibition. Visitors were also treated to free haircuts from celebrity barbers such as Lauren Owens, Marcus Harvey, and Jeremy DuBose, and could sample some of Bevel's most popular products, including the Hair Oil, Pro All-in-One Trimmer, and their latest product, the Electric Shaver.
Girard Hardy, Bevel's Director of Brand Marketing, said “Our interactive activation at One Musicfest was our love letter to hip-hop.” Bevel is the first and only grooming business made specifically for Black men, as the company website states. It reads, “We’re Black founded, and because of that, we’re just built different. We pour our heart and community into everything we do.” The website also offers informative videos and masterclasses for Black men, like how to achieve the perfect shape-up at home.
Bevel was founded by Tristan Walker in 2013 as part of his health and beauty company, Walker & Company Brands. Since then, Bevel has gained a considerable social presence, boasting over 125,000 followers on Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter).
The event proved to be a success, with Bevel's Respect Due interactive installation being a highlight of the festival. Bevel's presence continues to grow, as they have recently announced their expansion of distribution with a leading national beauty retailer.
