At the Annual General Meeting of the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) held on 27th September 2023, Avinash Pandey was unanimously elected as President, Abhishek Karnani as Vice President, Nandini Dias as Hon. Secretary, and Jaideep Gandhi as Hon. Treasurer.
The meeting also elected five voting members, namely Srinivasan K Swamy, M.V. Shreyams Kumar, Prasanth Kumar, Anant Goenka, and Janak Sarda. Additionally, five more members will be co-opted into the ManCom meeting along with other special invited members.
President Avinash Pandey expressed his enthusiasm for the year ahead. He stated, “The India Chapter of the IAA is one of the most active industry Associations in the country. Our initiatives cover a wide range of activities, from recognizing excellence in marketing, creativity, and sustainability, to launching Tech Pulse to cater to the ever-growing digital market. We are also leading the way in tackling gender bias in advertising and the entertainment industry through our Voice of Change initiative, which we have now evolved into a nation-wide movement.
“In the year ahead, we will continue to promote communications as a Force for Good through two initiatives, and once again lead a group of CEO’s to the USA to learn more about the latest developments in communication. I am looking forward to a very meaningful term ahead.”
The IAA is an international association with members from 76 countries, representing Advertising Agencies and the Media. It was established in the 1930s and is headquartered in New York. Membership to the Indian Chapter of IAA is by invitation only, and the Chapter is widely recognized for its various events such as the IAA Leadership Awards, IAA Olive Crown Awards, IndIAA Awards, IAA TechPulse, IAA Voice of Change, IAA Debates, IAA Conversations, IAA Young Turks Forum and IAA Knowledge Seminars, Webinars, Workshops, and Conclaves.
