Australian couple finds a koala sleeping in their bed upon returning home.
A couple from Adelaide had a startling experience today when they returned home from work earlier than usual. As they entered their house, they were greeted by an unexpected guest - a koala, snoozing away in their bed. To make things even more adorable, their pet dog was also fast asleep just a few meters away.

Francielle Dias Rufino, who hails from Brazil and moved to Australia with her husband Brunno two-and-a-half years ago, shared the exciting story with 9news.com.au. She recounted how she screamed out to her husband in Portuguese when she saw the koala in their bed. "I was so nervous that I completely forgot my English," she giggled.

According to Francielle, their dachshund cross beagle was also in for a surprise when he woke up from his slumber to find a new friend in the form of a cuddly koala. "He made a new friend!" she exclaimed happily. The couple suspects that the koala made its way into their house through the dog door.

Francielle also shared a video of the adorable encounter, in which the koala can be seen glancing at the couple before climbing up a bedside table and returning to the bed. However, the couple's attempts to call animal rescue groups were unsuccessful as they were all closed at that time of the night. So, Brunno came up with a clever idea to use a blanket to gently guide the koala out through the front door.

However, the little koala was not too pleased with being woken up and became a little aggressive, trying to bite Brunno. "Maybe he wasn't happy with being disturbed," Francielle joked. Despite the unexpected encounter, she couldn't help but gush over the cute visitor. "I love koalas, he was so cute! It was a very nice surprise," she said with a smile.

And as for the koala, Francielle is more than happy to welcome it back anytime it wants to visit. "He can come back anytime he likes," she said with fondness. It's moments like these that make living in Australia truly special - where even a sleepy koala can make its way into your home and leave behind a beautiful memory.
