Asda has some exciting news for its customers who love both grocery shopping and sports. In addition to the usual food essentials, customers can now add some extra items to their online order thanks to a new partnership between Asda and a popular sportswear brand. This partnership has led to the addition of over 480 items from Decathlon, including clothing, shoes, and sports accessories, on Asda's website, George.com.
Customers can now expect to find a wide range of exercise outfits, yoga mats, footballs, dumbbells, badminton rackets, swimming costumes, water bottles, training bands, and much more on the website. This collaboration is being touted as Asda's biggest product launch on its ecommerce platform yet, and it is a result of the retailer's existing partnership with Decathlon. In fact, Asda already has 22 Decathlon concessions in its supermarkets nationwide, and shoppers have praised the brand for its affordability and everyday wear options.
The news of this partnership has been well-received by customers, with many taking to social media to share their excitement. One customer, @dborahleey, loves Decathlon for its quality and affordability, while @art_vandelay8 considers it the GOAT (greatest of all time) in sportswear for its variety and affordability. And this is just the beginning, as George.com plans to expand its product ranges even further by introducing more third party brands in 2025.
Michael Rowles, Senior Director of Online Trading at George.com, expressed his delight at this expansion of their product ranges and the addition of Decathlon products. He also hinted at more exciting plans to bring products from other partners to their website in the future. In fact, Asda has recently made a few other exciting announcements, including a collaboration with a luxury womenswear designer, Roksanda Illinic, whose collection has been worn by the likes of Kate Middleton at major events.
But that's not all. Asda has also re-launched a popular Diet Coke product as part of its Tickled Pink Campaign, which aims to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign has been running for 28 years and has raised a staggering £92million for breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!. And it's not just Diet Coke that has turned pink, over 200 brands are participating in this campaign, including Heinz Baked Beans, Walkers Crisps, Aero Strawberry Melts, Marmite, Shreddies cereal, Hellman's Mayonnaise, and Jamie Dodgers.
