Every year, only 100 aspiring leaders are chosen to participate in the highly coveted Disney Dreamers Academy. This career development program for high school students has opened up applications for its 2024 cohort to come together in the spring for a four-day event of professional development and inspiration.
The Disney Dreamers Academy was founded on the legacy of Walt Disney himself, who sought to champion teenagers between the ages of 13 and 19 as they build out their dreams and aspirations. Selected attendees will have the opportunity to work with groundbreaking mentors from a wide variety of fields, all present to provide guidance and tips for their future careers.
Workshops will focus on developing a wide range of skills, such as practicing interviews, building a professional and creative network, and styling oneself for success. Additionally, the program will bring in guest speakers to discuss topics such as the power of dreams, planning for their bright futures, and more. Past speakers have included Marsai Martin, who was the youngest person to ever produce a movie at the age of 13.
The Disney Dreamers Academy encourages applications from people of all backgrounds and identities, whether they want to be doctors and scientists or artists and entrepreneurs. It is an opportunity to challenge dreamers to work towards their wildest ambitions without fear. For those who recognize the potential of a young person, a nomination for a student is also available.
As a bonus, admission into Disney’s theme parks for attendees and their chaperone is included. Disney looks for applicants who are optimistic, compassionate, and have a positive mindset and intellectual curiosity. Applications are due on October 31.
