A man recently found himself in hot water after deciding to donate his broken pool table to an op shop in Melbourne's north. According to Zac Dornom, the Compliance Programs Manager at EPA, the reason for the involvement of their agency was due to the offender depositing waste that exceeded 50 litres but was less than 1000 litres, which is against the law. Dornom also reminded everyone that disposing of waste comes with a cost, and it's best to try and reduce waste in the first place and recycle whenever possible. But if it is necessary to dispose of waste, it must be done legally.
