AIADMK is optimistic as Tamil Nadu deadlock continues

The state of Tamil Nadu is currently facing a period of uncertainty as the formation of the government remains in question. AIADMK General Secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, has reportedly assured party MLAs that the AIADMK will eventually form the next government in the state.

This has sparked speculation of potential political alliances in the post-election scenario. This development comes after the Assembly election results were announced four days ago, leading to a political stalemate that has not been seen in over six decades. Despite Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, led by actor-politician C.

Joseph Vijay, emerging as the single largest party with 108 seats, they have not been able to secure enough seats to form a majority government. In light of this situation, AIADMK MLAs have been staying at a luxurious resort in Puducherry amidst reports of intense political discussions and concerns about rival parties trying to poach MLAs. According to sources, Palaniswami held a meeting with the legislators at the resort on Thursday night and was elected as the leader of the AIADMK Legislature Party.

This was further solidified by signed letters from the MLAs endorsing his leadership. During the meeting, Palaniswami reassured the MLAs that the AIADMK will form the government in Tamil Nadu and asked them to be patient as good things take time. Currently, out of the 47 AIADMK MLAs, 28 are staying at the Puducherry resort.

Additionally, AMMK MLA S. Kamaraj, who won from Mannargudi, is also said to be staying with the AIADMK camp. The MLAs have been advised not to leave the premises without prior clearance and the resort rooms have been booked for the next seven days.

Meanwhile, in Chennai, the DMK Legislature Party, led by party president M.K. Stalin, held a meeting and passed four major resolutions. One of the resolutions strongly criticized the Congress party for supporting Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam after being a part of the DMK-led alliance in the elections.

The DMK also passed a resolution granting Stalin full authority to make urgent political decisions in order to form a stable government in Tamil Nadu and prevent the state from going into another election. The uncertainty surrounding the formation of the government deepened further after Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar stated that any party or alliance with the required numbers will be invited to form the government. There are also reports that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam MLAs may consider mass resignations if a DMK-AIADMK alliance is formed.

In conclusion, the political situation in Tamil Nadu remains tense as parties strategize and negotiate to form a stable government. The coming days will be crucial in determining the future of the state and its leadership.
