Adani Wilmar has filed a police complaint against the sale of fake Fortune brand products.
Edible oil major Adani Wilmar Ltd on Saturday took a stern step to protect their brand name, 'Fortune'. The company lodged a police complaint against a B2B platform for allegedly distributing counterfeit products in its name.

In a statement, the company said their representatives discovered the malpractice as part of a routine market survey. An FIR was lodged at Badalpur police station in Gautam Budhnagar District, Uttar Pradesh.

Adani Wilmar revealed that law enforcement authorities conducted a raid at the warehouse of the B2B platform that resulted in the seizure of 126 pet bottles of Fortune Kacchi Ghani Mustard Oil without the lid, 37 fake Fortune Refined Soybean Oil, and 16 pet bottles of Fortune Sarso Oil.

A spokesperson for the company expressed deep concern about the counterfeit products circulating in the market and posing risks to consumers' health. They said Adani Wilmar is collaborating with authorities to swiftly identify sources of counterfeits, and take decisive actions against unscrupulous traders.

An in-depth examination of the reported product revealed significant mismatches in Batch Code details, fake QR codes, and different packaging materials, confirming the presence of counterfeit products. This has been a major cause of concern for the company and they are taking steps to ensure the safety of their brand name and the consumers.
