Adam and his wife share a message of perseverance as they battle life's unexpected challenges.
Adam Thomas has been battling with the symptoms of a chronic health condition recently, but that hasn't stopped him from taking part in Strictly Come Dancing. Just a few days after being announced as part of the line-up in August, Adam, 34, revealed he’d been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

The Waterloo Road star recently said he ‘couldn’t walk’ while dealing with symptoms. But now he’s on the road to recovery and is looking forward to ‘getting on the dance floor and start moving’ which he’s been doing over the past two weeks.

Adam has now taken to social media to share a heartfelt message from his wife, Caroline Thomas, whom he’s been married to for six years. The couple share two children, Elsie-Rose, five, and eight-year-old Teddy, who also stars alongside Adam on Waterloo Road.

In the screenshot of her lengthy text, Caroline expressed how proud she was of Adam, saying: “I couldn’t be prouder to be your wife right now. You are holding yourself so well throughout all of this. I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it is, but I promise I’ll always try to understand, be here to run a bath, make beans on toast, pack your case, or just anything that makes any of this easier on you.”

She continued: “I get giddy at the thought of seeing you like I used to when we first met. I just want to cuddle you and never let go. I love you so so much, that feeling I get watching you dance is a feeling I’ll never forget. I am so so unbelievably proud of you. Go smash it tomorrow baby, you’ve got this.”

Adam shared the message with a caption saying it was ‘everything and more’, adding a cheeky comment at the end: “I wish I could post the pic that came with this message. Haha xx.”

Before being cast, Adam reportedly joked about wanting to be the next person in line to experience the ‘Strictly curse’. As the competition continues today at 6.30pm on BBC One, we can’t help but wonder who’s cheering for Adam on Strictly Come Dancing this season.
