Actress Tracy-Ann Oberman discusses potential permanent return to EastEnders as character Chrissie Watts.
Next up, Tracy-Ann Oberman has hinted at the possibility of a more permanent return to EastEnders, following her recent guest appearance as Chrissie Watts.
Fans were thrilled to see the iconic character back on the show after a 19-year absence, as part of the next chapter in The Six's story.
But instead of returning to Albert Square, Chrissie will reunite with her ex-stepdaughter Sharon Watts in prison, after Sharon was held in contempt of court during Dean Wicks' murder trial.
As viewers may remember, Chrissie is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Sharon's father, Den Watts, back in 2005.
It's sure to be an explosive reunion for the two women, especially since Sharon will only be serving a week's sentence. But Tracy-Ann has revealed that she is open to the possibility of returning for a longer stint in the future.
In an interview, she shared, "I never thought I would come back, but Chris [Clenshaw] absolutely persuaded me. He's an amazing executive producer and he loves the show and wants to honor everything about it for the 40th anniversary. I had such a great time, so you know what they say, never say never..."
Playing Chrissie again after nearly two decades felt surreal for Tracy-Ann, who described it as "putting on a really nice old coat that you've put away in the back of the wardrobe". She also praised her co-star Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon, for being "an absolute joy" to work with and said that their scenes together were like a "good tennis match".
As for the upcoming drama between Chrissie and Sharon, Tracy-Ann teased that it will be a rollercoaster of emotions, with love, jealousy, hatred, passion, joy, and revenge all coming into play. Will there be a resolution? Will both women make it out alive and find closure? Only time will tell...
