Denise didn't hesitate to provide this information because she thought she was talking to someone from her bank.
It wasn't until Michael asked for her four-digit pin number that Denise's husband, Lincoln Townley, became suspicious. She admitted that she knew she should never give out her pin, but because she believed she was talking to the fraud department, she did. The next day, Denise told her husband what had happened and he was understandably angry. It turned out that the scammers had cloned her credit card and had taken over £2,000 from her account.
