Actress Celina Jaitly's lawyer accuses Peter Hagg of physically abusing and manipulating her while she was emotionally vulnerable.
After 15 years of marriage, former Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has taken a brave step and filed a case of domestic violence against her husband, Peter Hagg. Her lawyer, Niharika Karanjawala, spoke to the media on Tuesday, shedding light on the allegations made by Celina in her complaint.

During an interview with Republic TV, the lawyer explained that Celina had been enduring the marriage, hoping that Peter's behavior would change for the better. She also did it for the sake of their three children. However, things took a turn for the worse after 2019, and that's when Celina decided to take legal action.

Peter Haag, a hotel manager from Austria, and Celina tied the knot in September 2010. They have three beautiful children together. According to Celina, Peter has been subjecting her to both mental and physical abuse over the years. The lawyer revealed that the abuse intensified after 2019, leading Celina to finally speak up and seek justice.

When asked about the allegations, Niharika stated that Celina had gone through great suffering. She said, "There have been instances of physical violence as well. Mr. Haag losing his temper, throwing things, breaking things, and being violent with Celina on several occasions. Along with that, there has been a lot of emotional cruelty as well. In addition, there is a parallel civil proceeding for a gift that was obtained through coercion and manipulation."

Niharika went on to explain that in 2017, after Celina lost a child and her parents within a short period of time, Peter took advantage of her emotionally vulnerable state. He manipulated her into giving up her property and moved them to a remote area in Austria, where Celina was isolated and didn't speak the language fluently. This made it easier for Peter to control and subjugate her.

"These are the allegations that we have raised in our petition, and on December 12, Mr. Haag will have to respond to them," Niharika added.

When asked about the physical violence, the lawyer said, "There have been instances of violence. However, since the matter is sub judice, I cannot disclose the details. It is not my story to tell. But we are hopeful that justice will be served for Celina and her children once the case is heard in court."

Niharika also shared that it was Celina's hard-earned savings that funded their lifestyle. She said, "Over the years, it was her savings that were used to support their lifestyle. In addition, Peter manipulated her into transferring a valuable property in Mumbai, which Celina had acquired on her own. Our petition takes this into account as well."

Meanwhile, Peter has reportedly blocked Celina's access to their children. In the ongoing divorce proceedings in Austria, the court has recently granted Celina one hour of telephonic access to her children every day.

Niharika concluded the interview by saying, "We are happy with this decision by the Austrian court. It shows that they are taking the matter seriously and we are hopeful that justice will be served." It has been reported that Peter filed for divorce in Austria in August 2025.
