Ranveer Singh, the popular Hindi film actor, found himself in a scary situation when he received a threatening message on WhatsApp from unknown individuals. This news was revealed by the police on Tuesday. As a result, security around his residence has been increased as a precautionary measure. An official stated that Singh approached the police after receiving a voice note with the threat.
The incident occurred just days after a shooting took place outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty's home in Mumbai. The police have reason to believe that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang may be responsible for the threat against Ranveer, possibly as a means of extortion. As a result, the Mumbai Police's crime branch has launched an investigation into the matter.
In order to ensure the safety of the actor, not only have Mumbai Police personnel been deployed, but private guards have also been hired to protect the housing society where Ranveer resides in Central Mumbai. However, the society's managing committee has expressed concern regarding the presence of armed guards in the common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium, and children's play area. In a letter to the police, they stated that this could potentially put the other residents at risk and cause discomfort.
This is not the only incident of its kind in recent times. Just recently, there was a shooting outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty's home in Juhu. The culprit, Shubham Lonkar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is still at large and has claimed responsibility for the firing. Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case so far.
