In the early hours of this morning, a woman was taken into custody by the police in Melbourne's north-east. The reason? A car, a grey Holden Cruze sedan to be exact, almost collided with a police vehicle head-on. The incident occurred on Plenty Road at Yan Yan at approximately 2am.
According to the authorities, the alleged driver of the sedan had reportedly swerved onto the wrong side of the road, narrowly missing the police car. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. However, the driver was immediately pulled over and accompanied to a nearby police station by the officers.
At the police station, the woman allegedly refused to take an evidentiary breath test. This raised suspicion and led to further investigation. As a result, the 26-year-old, who hails from Craigieburn, is expected to face multiple charges, including dangerous driving, drink driving and other driving offences.
