It's not easy to criticize Doug 'Censor' Martin's determination. After all, it took him a whopping 15 months to train for it. But Martin has finally achieved a fitness record that most of us can only dream of - although his hands may not be thanking him for it.

We've seen plenty of examples of gamers breaking strange records, like the time someone received a Guinness World Record for plugging in hundreds of consoles into one TV. And who can forget the student who built the largest functioning Game Boy ever, all because of his childhood love for the console.

But now, a former Call of Duty pro has earned himself a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records in an equally bizarre, yet more physically demanding way. Doug Martin, known as Censor during his competitive gaming days and on Twitch, managed to do an astonishing 9,250 pull-ups in just 19 hours before calling it quits.

His initial goal was to hit 11,111 pull-ups, but he decided to stop because his arms, wrists, and hands were completely exhausted. And not only did he enter the record book, but he also crushed the previous record of 8,940 pull-ups held by Japan's Kenta Adachi in February, with a whopping five hours to spare.

According to Censor, it took him over 15 months to train for this record attempt. He even enlisted the help of former record holder Jaxon Italiano, who managed to do 8,008 pull-ups back in 2023. But as you can see from the video, doing 9,000 pull-ups takes a toll on your hands.

The entire attempt was livestreamed, showing Censor taking short breaks in between sets of pull-ups. One of the viewers was fellow Twitch streamer Nadeshot, who was blown away by Censor's achievement. He exclaimed, "The amount of training this man must have done for the past few years to be able to do over 9,000 pull-ups is astounding. That is some mythical discipline. I mean, that's the stuff you see in movies."

Not only did Censor break a record, but he also did it for a good cause. The Purple Project, which aims to find a cure for pancreatic cancer and improve the lives of those affected, was the inspiration behind Censor's attempt.

It's clear that Censor's hard work and dedication paid off, and his achievement is truly impressive.
