A teenage girl in Jajpur, Odisha gave birth at school, prompting an investigation by authorities.
In the district of Jajpur, located in the state of Odisha, a surprising event has taken place. A young girl, who is currently in 10th grade, has given birth to a baby girl. This news was confirmed by officials on Thursday.

It all started when the girl began to experience severe abdominal pains in her home on Wednesday. Her family quickly rushed her to Bari hospital, where they sought medical assistance. According to A K Sharma, the Additional District Medical Officer in Jajpur, the girl successfully gave birth to her baby at the government hospital in Bari block that same day.

However, due to concerns about her health, the newborn was admitted to the pediatric ICU. To ensure both mother and baby received the best care possible, they were then transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Jajpur from Bari Hospital.

Niranjan Kar, the District Child Protection Officer in Jajpur, also provided some insight into the situation. He mentioned that the young student had only completed two papers for her matriculation examination and was scheduled to take the mathematics paper on Thursday. He also stated that they would need to verify her date of birth to determine whether she is a minor or an adult.

Interestingly, this is not the first time a similar situation has occurred in Odisha. In the Chitrakonda area of Malkangiri district, another class 10 student gave birth to a baby girl on Monday. This happened while she was staying at a hostel for a residential girls' high school run by the ST & SC Development department. Just like the previous case, she was also in the midst of her matriculation examination.

This news has garnered attention and raised important questions about the well-being of young students, especially when it comes to their education and health. It is a reminder that we need to pay more attention to the needs and safety of our youth.
