In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young student from a private English medium school in Balasore lost his life on Friday. The unfortunate incident occurred at Padmapur village, under the jurisdiction of Chandipur police in the district. The victim was identified as 10-year-old Narayan Tudu, the son of Bagarai Tudu, a resident of Barang in Khurda district. Narayan was a fourth-grade student at Banchhanidhi English Medium School in Balasore.
According to sources, Narayan was a resident of the school hostel and on that fateful day, he had just finished his breakfast. He went to the nearby water tank to wash his hands when suddenly, the wall of the tank collapsed and fell on him. The young boy was immediately trapped under the rubble of the tank's concrete wall. The school authorities acted swiftly and managed to rescue the boy, but tragically, he could not be saved. He was quickly taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, where the doctors declared him deceased.
Upon receiving the distressing news, the Chandipur police launched an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also took notice of the tragedy and spoke to the Balasore District Collector. He requested a detailed report on the matter as soon as possible.
