A popular WWE wrestler felt exposed and unprepared when their career took an unexpected turn.
Jey Uso, one of the beloved superstars of WWE, recently opened up about his experience as a solo star. In an exclusive interview with The Agency backstage during WWE's show in Manchester, Jey shared his thoughts on how he felt taking his first steps as a solo performer.

"It was definitely a little awkward and vulnerable, you know," Jey admitted, as he reflected on his journey to becoming a solo star. After being paired with his twin brother Jimmy for his entire career, it wasn't easy for Jey to break out on his own. It took some time for him to find his footing and adjust to a whole new way of working on Raw, away from his family and the whole Bloodline saga.

"In the beginning, it was kind of hard," Jey confessed. "I was trying to find my way. But now, after almost a whole year, I feel comfortable. I believe in what I'm doing and I think the fans believe in it too."

Jey also shared how the fans played a huge role in his journey as a solo star. "The Yeet Movement caught on and the people got behind me. I never thought I would be in this position and I am extremely grateful to everyone who supported me," he said.

For Jey, a major turning point was when he performed at Backlash France in Lyon earlier this year. The arena was lit up as fans waved their phones in sync with his theme music. "That was when I realized, 'Oh damn, they're with me'," Jey recalled. "But in the moment, I don't really hear the outside noise. It's only when I watched it back that I realized how big that entrance was."

His confidence has soared over the last year without the Bloodline, and six months later, Jey now holds the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. However, being a solo star was never something he thought about. "It never crossed my mind to venture out and be a singles competitor. I always thought we would be a tag team for life," Jey shared. "But as the journey went on, I started wanting to reach bigger heights."

And that's exactly what he did, with his big title win. But it wasn't until he got home to his family that the career milestone sunk in. "To be honest, it didn't hit me until I got home," Jey revealed. "I showed my son the belt and he was ecstatic. He started taking pictures with it. It was a moment I never even dreamed of."

Jey has proven that the nickname "main event" isn't just for show. "It took me almost 15 years to get here. I never thought I would have my own singles championship," he said with a smile. "But now I have it."

WWE will be returning to the UK in November with dates in Dublin, London, Nottingham, and Sheffield. So, make sure to catch Jey and other WWE superstars in action.
