A man was arrested and faces 35 charges after authorities found guns, drugs, and lizards in his possession.
A young man, aged 25, found himself in a heap of trouble after police raided a rural property in southern NSW. The search, which took place in Humula, a small town about 200km west of Canberra, was executed at the early hours of Wednesday, around 6:45am.

During the raid, authorities discovered a wide range of items that were reported stolen. These included guns, power tools, and even lizards. Three firearms, along with ammunition, were among the items confiscated. In addition, three trail bikes, a luxury watch, a chainsaw, hedge cutter, lawn mower, and various road signs and number plates were also found and believed to be stolen.

But what caught the attention of National Parks and Wildlife Services was the discovery of four shingleback blue tongue lizards. After further investigation, it was revealed that the man did not have the proper license to keep these protected native animals. As a result, the lizards were seized and taken into the care of the wildlife services.

Not only were stolen goods recovered, but drugs were also found on the property. Cannabis and methamphetamine were among the substances confiscated, along with hunting equipment such as tracking collars, breast plates, hunting knives, and a GPS handheld tracking module.

The 25-year-old was taken into custody and brought to Holbrook Police Station, where he was charged with a long list of offences. These included possessing firearms without a license, theft, property damage, and dealing in protected animals. He also faces allegations related to poaching, such as entering agricultural land without consent to hunt animals.

The man made an appearance in court in Wagga Wagga the following day, where he was denied bail. His next court date is set for May 14. The incident has caused a stir in the local community, with some expressing shock and disappointment over the man's actions. It's a reminder to always follow the law and respect the rights of others, including protected animals.
