This is a day to remember the legacy of discipline, service and selfless love of the young minds of India. This day is celebrated as the Foundation Day of the Scouts and Guides of India. On 7th November 1950, different Scouts and Guides organizations in India came together to form a national organization called "Bharat Scouts and Guides". This unity showed a new path for the youth of the country. "Service is religion, discipline is the power of life". The Scouts and Guides movement has its roots in the ideals of Sir Robert Baden Powell. His vision was clear. Every youth should adopt the values of discipline, courage, skill and duty in their lives. This movement grew very quickly in India from village to city, from school to college. Scouts and Guides strengthened the bond of service spirit among the youth.
The original motto of Scouts and Guides, "He Pdethichidije - Always be ready", is still alive in the hearts of millions of children, young men and women, teachers and elders. This movement is not just a part of education; it is also a lesson in life, a lesson in discipline, selfless service, and leadership. It is not just a word; it is a guide to life. Their specialty is being physically, mentally, socially and spiritually ready to "serve" in any situation. In natural disasters of the country, fairs, festivals, village cleanliness campaigns, social works, in any moment of need for the country, children and elders wearing uniforms can be seen everywhere. They stand in the front line and serve without any distinction between elders and children. Their service is without expectation. Their work is selfless. Bharat Scouts and Guides is not just an organization; It is a movement - a movement of values, discipline and humanity. It teaches the younger generation true leadership. In today's fast-paced life, when humanity is fading in the shadow of selfishness, the ideals of Scouts and Guides stand before us like a light. On November 7, Scouts and Guides members across the country renew our pledge once again. "I will do my duty to God and country to the best of my ability. I will help others and follow the Scout-Guide rule." Flag hoisting, prayers, service activities are held in Scout-Guide units. This is not just a celebration; it is an opportunity to revive the value of service in life. Today's generation is growing up in a fast-changing world. While values are fading away in technology, competition and a fast-paced life, Scouts and Guides are sowing humanity in the youth. They instill in children a spirit of leadership, cooperation and social responsibility. This day is not just for remembrance, it is a day of inspiration.
A day when every Scout-Guide realizes the "Scout Mind" within them. A day when every Scout-Guide is ready to contribute to their community, their country. Let us not only celebrate this day, but also live by its meaning, sow the seeds of service, discipline and love in our lives.
Because, becoming a true Scout-Guide is not just about wearing uniforms, but also about wearing humanity in the heart. "Service is the greatest religion - always be ready".
