Up Next, Linda Robson, star of the show Loose Women, has opened up for the first time about a health scare that caused damage to her pancreas. The 66-year-old actress revealed that she has been under the watchful eye of doctors for some time now after suffering from gallstones a few years ago. She explained that the small stones, typically made of cholesterol, formed in her gallbladder and eventually led to a cyst that grew from 1cm to 2cm, causing damage to her pancreas.

During Tuesday's episode of Loose Women, Linda shared, "Well I've had a bit of a health scare myself. So, quite a few years ago I had gallstones and they damaged my pancreas, and they've been keeping an eye on me for a while now." She went on to say that she's awaiting the results of a scan and if they are not good, she may need to have her pancreas removed.

Linda's co-host on Loose Women, Ruth Langsford, asked her if the health scare was happening right now, to which Linda replied, "If it is bad then they're going to have to remove my pancreas, which means I'll then be a diabetic. But fingers crossed it won't happen, hopefully the cysts haven't grown." She also revealed that her children have been worried about her, stating, "The kids have obviously been really worried about me."

Later on in the programme, Linda joked about her health scare, saying, "I feel healthy, I've got no signs of it and when I had pancreatitis before I was screaming in agony and being sick and everything, so hopefully it's stayed the same size." Ruth asked about how Linda's family was dealing with the situation, to which she replied, "I make jokes about it all the time because I try to diffuse them worrying about me."

According to the NHS, gallstones may not always show symptoms and do not usually require treatment. However, if they become trapped in the gallbladder, it can cause intense pain that can last for hours. In these cases, a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (keyhole surgery to remove the gallbladder) may be recommended, which is a relatively simple procedure with a low risk of complications.

Linda's career as an actress began with a minor role in the BBC drama Survivors. She then went on to star in The Crezz and the short-lived sitcom L for Lester. In 1989, she joined Birds of a Feather where she played Tracey Stubbs alongside Pauline Quirke and Lesley Joseph until 1998. Linda has also appeared in The Bill, Crossroads, Casualty, and Jobs for the Girls. She made her debut on Loose Women in 2003 and has also been a contestant on reality shows such as I'm a Celebrity and Celebrity MasterChef.
