A celebrity from Strictly expresses gratitude to fans for their support and reveals his battle with brain tumor.
Good morning, everyone. I wanted to give you all an update on my health after my recent surgery for a brain tumour. I am so grateful for all the support and kind messages from my fans during this difficult time. Your love and well wishes mean the world to me.

As some of you may know, I underwent surgery towards the end of 2022 to remove a growth on my pituitary gland. Since then, I have been keeping you all updated on my journey through social media. Unfortunately, I have some news to share with you all. It seems that I may have returned to being diabetic.

In the past, I was able to control my diabetes through my diet, but with the amount of steroids I have been taking to aid in my recovery, it seems that my blood sugar levels have been affected. I have some tests scheduled for today and I will keep you all posted on the results.

For those who are interested, I have also joined Metro's Strictly community on WhatsApp. This is a great way to stay updated on all the latest news and rumors from the Strictly dancefloor. I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your unwavering support and love. Your messages of affection and encouragement have touched my heart and I am truly grateful. I am now waiting for the results and will keep you all informed.

Last year, I spoke about being in denial over my brain tumour before finally deciding to undergo the gruelling six-hour operation in November 2022. My family and friends played a huge role in convincing me to go through with it. I was scared and in denial, but my neurosurgeon, Professor Omar Pathmanaban, was so reassuring during our Zoom call. What made me feel even better was when he said, "It would be an honour and a privilege to take away your tumour...when I was a kid, my mother and I used to watch you every morning on breakfast telly. It made me late for school."

I was also warned that the tumour, which was pressing on my optic nerve, could potentially cause me to lose my sight. I must admit, I wanted to run away to the mountains like Heidi when I first heard the news. I was also advised not to sneeze, blow my nose, or travel for the next six months to avoid any post-surgery complications.

I kept my health battles private because I didn't want to make a fuss. But now, I wanted to share my journey with all of you and thank you for your continuous support.
