8 new cases of dengue reported in Indore, taking total to 113.
The city of Indore has been facing a surge in dengue cases due to the favourable conditions for mosquito breeding brought on by the break in rains. On Monday, 8 people tested positive, bringing the total number of cases for the first eleven days of the month to 26, and the total number of cases overall to 113. Out of the eight cases found on Monday, five were women and three were men, including a child.

According to district malaria officer, Dr Daulat Patel, 113 patients have tested positive, which includes 56 men and 57 women. At present, 8 patients are undergoing treatment. To combat the spread of the disease, anti-larvae surveys have been conducted across the district as well as areas where dengue patients have been found being sprayed and fogged. Fortunately, out of the 8 active cases, none have been admitted to hospital.

Dr Patel also mentioned the importance of an awareness drive, and that they are targeting densely populated areas to intensify the surveys. As per the records of the health department, no active patient is currently receiving treatment in any hospital. Many of the patients have been discharged and the rest are doing well, without requiring hospitalisation.

It is clear that a lot of effort is being put into controlling the spread of dengue in Indore, and it is important for people to stay alert and aware. With the help of the measures being taken and the people's cooperation, the number of cases can be brought down.
