Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent, is expanding his liquor empire into the NHL! The prominent television producer and hip-hop entrepreneur has signed his first ever multi-year partnership with the Vegas Golden Knights.
This is not the first time 50 Cent has partnered with a sports team; he already has agreements with the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves for his liquor products, as well as an agreement with the Houston Texans of the NFL.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with the Vegas Golden Knights and for Sire Spirits to close its first NHL partnership,” said 50 in a statement. “Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne are both excellent brands for championship teams. Bill Foley and the Golden Knights organization know how to win, so it's a perfect fit for my brands and a great opportunity to use the G-Unity Foundation to help Las Vegas.”
Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne are now the official champagne and cognac of the Vegas Golden Knights. These two spirits will be sold at the arena for the next several seasons, as the team celebrates their Stanley Cup victory.
“We are so excited to be welcoming 50 Cent and Sire Spirits into the VGK family,” said Kerry Bubolz, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Golden Knights. “We know this partnership will help us reach a wider fan base and grow the game of hockey for everyone.”
As part of the agreement, 50's G-Unity Foundation will also be teaming up with the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation to help out the Las Vegas community. This news comes shortly after 50 and Rémy Martin settled an undisclosed dispute between Branson Cognac and the French cognac brand that was over bottle design copyright infringement.
